Europe’s First Vinyl Room Opens in Amsterdam
“The Vinyl Room is a tribute to the musical experience itself,” says Birgitte de Winter, Commercial Director of Ziggo Dome.
Europe is officially home to its first-ever Vinyl Room and we are thrilled to announce it has been named a winner in the Interior Design Bar Lounge category at the 2025 LIV Hospitality Design Awards. Kirkdale Studios is proud to have contributed to this world-class project by supplying the bespoke contract furniture that defines its award-winning interior.
The Inspiration
Located within the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, the Vinyl Room offers visitors a truly unique experience steeped in music, nostalgia and atmosphere. The space opened its doors at the beginning of November, with none other than DJ Hardwell setting the tone by symbolically spinning the very first record.
Inspired by traditional Japanese listening bars, the Vinyl Room features warm, inviting interiors and, obviously, an exceptional vinyl collection. The aim was to blend the intimate, contemplative spirit of Japanese audio culture with the vibrant, eclectic character of Amsterdam. Conceived by Live Nation’s in house design team at Blueprint Studio and one of London’s leading design teams, Blacksheep; the interiors of the Vinyl Room masterfully balance warmth, exclusivity and style to offer a VIP experience like no other.

The Location
The Vinyl Room’s atmosphere thrives on texture, tone, and tactility. We were proud to contribute to this environment with barstools, lounge chairs and tables that enhance the room’s visual language. Bespoke details have been incorporated seamlessly throughout the venue to created a space that feels fully connected in its design. Musical motifs decorate bar tops, tables and and the walls to create a unique space.
We are proud to have supplied this project with all its loose furniture, which includes dining chairs, bespoke tables, bespoke barstools, lounge chairs, and more. This selection significantly contributes to the visual language designed by the hospitality team at Blacksheep.
The Loose Furniture
Along the curved bar sits our bespoke K-Ikon barstools upholstered in a fresh green faux leather to introduce a subtle contrast to the dominant warm hues. Their curved backs and plush cushions are the perfect mix between functionality and Mid-Centaury sophistication.
Custom printed Ash tables sit next to lively booth seating. perfectly positioned to offer a private moment when the bar fills with enthusiastic music lovers while iconic music memorabilia fill the walls leading to our bespoke K-Amsterdam barstools. Designed to be sleek, with a daring and dramatic edge, the combination of straight edges and curved spaces perfectly encapsulate the vintage vibe of the room.
The Vinyl Room is not just a bar, it’s a sanctuary of sound and all the environment was carefully designed to create the ideal setting for listening to music.
For a more relaxed experience, a comfortable banquette spans the length of the wall filled with an immense record collection. Our K-Turn Tables, complete with custom record groves reflect the romantic lighting with a distinctive flair while terracotta coloured tub chairs mirror the fixed seating. Truly this is the best place to sip a cocktail and reminisce of gigs gone past, or to plan your next outing to the Ziggo Dome.
Designed to sit back and enjoy the music in, bespoke K-Deco lounge chairs have a distinct angled shape adding drama and intrigue to the venue while its golden brown upholstery matches the earthy palette of the Vinyl Room.
Blacksheep have curated an exclusive space where music takes centre stage, an environment where guests can unwind, listen to handpicked records -from cult classics such as The Beatles’ Abbey Road to modern pop hits like Brat by Charlie XCX- sip a cocktail or enjoy a bite in a uniquely immersive setting. Blacksheep have combined a mix of sultry lounging areas and energetic corners designed to create dynamic interior and an electrifying atmosphere.
Explore the colour palette of the Vinyl Room
For the longer tables, we provided Shanna side chairs upholstered in a ebony shade, the ideal seating for anyone looking to enjoy a culinary bite while surrounded by this suggestive atmosphere.
They are paired with the Shanna barstools, nicely enveloped in a deep crimson faux leather fabric. Their clean and elegant silhouette is a perfect complement for the warm mood of the room.
The Vinyl Room at the Ziggo Dome is a masterclass in how interior design can elevate an experience. With warm tones, evocative lighting, and thoughtfully curated furnishings, it creates a timeless, tactile environment that pays homage to the golden age of vinyl.
