The Location
Tucked away on one of central London’s quieter streets, Row on 5 has quickly become one of the capital’s most talked-about dining destinations. With its refined interiors, meticulously crafted details, and a Michelin star to its name, the restaurant offers a masterclass in understated luxury. Completed in late 2024, the space was brought to life by Jason Atherton and the renowned interiors team at Rosendale Design, who entrusted Kirkdale Studios to supply key pieces of bespoke furniture to support the overall vision.
The Interiors
The interior palette at Row on 5 leans into warm, rich tones that create a lavish and enveloping atmosphere. These tones are balanced by carefully controlled lighting — warm glow from pendant fittings which adds intimacy and sculpted shadows adding to an atmosphere that feels more dramatic than many fine‑dining counterparts. The result is an environment that feels at once grounded and luxurious; intimate without being overworked. The whole material scheme emphasises sophistication and comfort rather than brightness to make the space feel intimate, luxurious, and very deliberately designed to let culinary and service moments shine against a quietly elegant backdrop.
Bespoke Furniture: the K-Verona Sofa
As a specialist in hospitality contract furniture, we were proud to contribute to this award-winning project with one of the most striking upholstered elements in the space — the K-Verona Sofa. Designed to offer both visual impact and long-service durability, the sofas were tailored specifically for Row on 5 to complement Rosendale Design’s rich and immersive interior concept.
Upholstered in a deep, velvety fabric, the sofa seats introduce a bold accent to the overall scheme, beautifully accompanying the darker timber finishes of the legs. This combination is mirrored in the Essex Armchair, a unique piece with a wrap around timber arm. Generously proportioned and built for comfort, they create inviting moments of softness within the refined setting — encouraging guests to settle in, relax, and fully absorb the experience of dining at Row on 5.
As with many of our high-end hospitality collaborations, the success of the furniture integration at Row on 5 lay in the details. Working closely with the team at Rosendale Design from the early specification stages, we were able to tailor the finish and upholstery of the Trench Armchair to suit the precise aesthetic and functional requirements of the space. This bespoke approach ensured consistency across the design narrative — from the lighting right through to the furniture — while also meeting the practical demands of a busy, service-led environment.
Row on 5's Colours and Textures
We were especially delighted to see Row on 5 earn its first Michelin star as well as 5 AA Rosets within a year of opening – a testament not only to the interior design but also to the restaurant’s exceptional culinary offering. The kitchen, led by a talented team of chefs, presents a seasonal menu that draws on modern European influences, with a focus on ingredient-led dishes and understated innovation.
Our work with Rosendale Design on this project underscores the importance of collaboration in delivering thoughtfully curated spaces. The success of Row on 5 is a reflection of careful design, fine food, and well-chosen furniture – and we are proud to have played a small part in that journey.
