The Project
Nestled within the New Forest National Park, you will find Hamptworth Golf, golf and country club. The course is one of the finest in South England, featuring practice facilities, driving range & club house, and is renowned for the infamous hole known as “The Beast”, a 666 yard monster par 6.
A £2 million refurbishment of the clubhouse has recently been completed with Kirkdale providing loose, fixed and bespoke furniture for the restaurant, terrace, and changing rooms in one of our largest projects this year.
We asked Rosendale Design to take us through their design process.
What were your initial Concept Ideas?
The client only had one stipulation, he wanted the nicest clubhouse in the area. Because of the architecture , we decided to go with a contemporary approach using vernacular materials.
What were your initial Design inspirations?
It was primarily the lighting and furniture that we wanted to make the biggest statements with. We tried to keep the tones on the walls simple whilst employing colour in the furniture. Also, we used lighting to create layers and highlight the colours of the furniture.

In addition to the loose furniture over 30 metres of fixed seating was made for this project. Designed with integrated planters and recessed lighting, it was no small task, but we’re very pleased with the results. See below for a sneak peek into the manufacturing process.
