David Lloyd brings a fresh new look to their Ringwood Club
David Lloyd’s Ringwood location has recently undergone an impressive renovation, and Kirkdale Studios had the pleasure of supplying furniture, including several bespoke pieces, for the Business Hub and Clubroom.
Set on the edge of the New Forest and just moments from the historic market town of Ringwood, the renowned leisure centre enjoys a setting that naturally supports a healthy, active lifestyle. Serving both the local community and members travelling from across Hampshire and Dorset, David Lloyd has long been a hub for wellbeing.
The recent renovation builds on this unique location, creating interiors that feel calm, contemporary and connected to their surroundings while offering a welcoming, premium experience for all who walk through the doors.
With more than 130 clubs across the UK and Europe, David Lloyd is a household name in premium leisure and wellbeing. Their vision for the Ringwood site was to elevate the member experience even further, transforming the club into a space that supports every part of a modern wellness journey.
The refurbishment introduced a new Reformer Pilates studio along with spa facilities featuring a heated pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool.
Beyond the poolside spa and modern gym area, members can also enjoy the Clubroom: a welcoming social space designed for relaxation, healthy dining and focused work within the dedicated business lounge.
To help create a Clubroom environment that feels both comfortable and highly functional, we supplied a curated mix of armchairs and side chairs, chosen to complement the interior palette while meeting the practical needs of a busy, multifunctional space.
This area was designed with families in mind, it offers a play area for kids and our comfortable Baobab side chairs, perfect to relax into after an intense work out.
The restaurant features our fully upholstered Elane side and arm chairs which provide both comfort and style, offering the perfect place for members to unwind and enjoy a healthy meal in the club’s calming atmosphere.
David Lloyd’s commitment to supporting members’ overall wellness is reflected in the dining experience, which encourages mindful eating and includes a diverse selection of nutritious dishes. Vegan choices and a dedicated children’s menu ensure that the space caters to every member of the family.
The adults-only Business Hub is purpose-designed to enhance productivity, featuring comfortable bespoke barstools and ergonomic seating for those who wish to work or catch up on tasks during their visit.
Laminate coffee tables and plush lounge chairs complete the area, ensuring people can relax between a work-out and a work meeting.
Directly opposite the new Reformer Pilates studio sits our bespoke round fixed-seating unit, designed to accommodate the transition between work-out and clubroom. It features plush seating and a deep backrest, so whether your waiting for a class to start or need somewhere to catch your breath, there is always somewhere comfortable.
A brass plinth highlights the copper tones found throughout the interior while the velvety-soft blue Matisse fabric upholsters the unit. Pared with the leafy green planter situated in its centre, our bespoke seating transforms into a tropical pop of colour.
This fabric has also been used to upholster sofas and selected side chairs, armchairs and barstools, creating a cohesive and elegant design language throughout the clubroom.
