Explore the furniture of the new Bryn Williams' Restaurant in the heart of Theatr Clwyd
Kirkdale Studios recently furnished the stunning interiors of Bryn Williams’ newest culinary venture in Mold, Wales. Perched on the first floor of Theatr Clwyd, the largest producing theatre in Wales, this restaurant transforms every pre-show meal into a memorable experience.
Bryn Williams and his Modern Welsh Bistro
Bryn Williams honed his craft in London’s most prestigious kitchens before launching his own successful solo career. This new site marks his fifth restaurant launch, where he introduces a sophisticated “Modern Welsh Bistro” concept. The menu celebrates French cooking while showcasing the finest local Welsh ingredients. Consequently, the restaurant furniture needed to reflect this blend of traditional roots and contemporary flair.
The Restaurant
Because the venue serves guests throughout the day and caters to busy pre-show dinner crowds, comfort and durability remained top priorities. To meet these needs, Kirkdale supplied tables and a diverse range of seating including bespoke sofas and banquettes.

The Chairs
For the main dining area, we provided a diverse selection of stick-back seating, including side chairs, armchairs, and matching barstools. These pieces feature an interesting silhouette that provides a modern twist to a very classic design. We upholstered the chairs in Agua Libra fabrics using shades of Terracotta and Mocha. These colours perfectly complement the warm interior palette where rich browns and deep reds dominate the space.
The Tables
We paired these chairs with light brown oak tables in various sizes to suit the room’s unique architecture and allow for movement. Some of these restaurant tables feature a custom design to sit flush against the glass walls. By giving them one semi-circular edge and one flat edge, we created a layout that saves space while maintaining a clean, architectural aesthetic.

Bespoke Furniture
Beyond the standard dining sets, Kirkdale Studios designed bespoke furniture specifically for this project. Our team designed and installed custom sofas and a unique U-shaped banquette.
While the sofas and the banquette share the same cured armrests and timber feet, we adapted the design of the sofa to suit a U-shaped booth. The rounded end created a natural way for conversation to flow around the table for large groups while the central space perfectly fits a 1.6m long D end oak table.
This custom fixed seating features a unique metal frame, that gives the Bistro’s guests an enhanced sense of privacy while. The bespoke banquette also helps to maximize the floor plan and provides a level of sophisticated comfort that aligns with the high standards of a Bryn Williams kitchen.
The sofas and banquette are upholstered in Agua Libra in the shade of Terracotta to match the rest of the seating and the ambience. The deep-seated design of the sofas provides a more relaxed alternative to the standard dining chairs, allowing guests to enjoy an afternoon tea or a drink before a play.
