Freshly folded dumplings and fabulous furniture

“The dumplings are all worth the anticipation”, and so is BAO’s new Marylebone location.

BAO is the epicentre of amazing Taiwanese cuisine.  The iconic London noodle and dumpling eatery has opened its 5th in James St, Marylebone. Founded in Soho in 2013 by food geniuses Erchen Chang, Shing Chung and Wai Ting Chung, BAO has stolen Londoner’s hearts ever since with each location offering a different insight into delicious Taiwanese food.

The minimalist interior of BAO’s newest location, designed by MATHs Design, is stunning. The interior features beautiful warm wood panelled walls with orb like lights illuminating the pop of colour provided by the excellently crafted food; the outdoor terrace offers additional seating to enjoy food all summer long.

While diners chow down on gorgeous dumplings, they can sit on the bespoke Cloud Bar Stool and peer into the open kitchen to watch fresh dumplings being hand crafted. The bold and plush orange upholstery is striking in the refined interior and provides unparalleled comfort for those gazing into the kitchen. The thin tubular frame juxtaposes the plumpness of the cushion and makes the stool lightweight but durable enough to withstand the bustling environment.

The interior also contains 40 of the Cloud Low Stool, upholstered in an ivory imitation leather that blends seamlessly into the warm interior and helps extenuate a welcoming and sophisticated dining atmosphere.

To accompany the stools, we supplied a series of Laminate tables topped with toughened glass. The minimalist nature of the tabletops are designed to compliment the bright colours of the artisan Taiwanese food and the glass provides an easy-clean surface ensuring longevity of the table tops. The tops are supported by a black Round Table Base that almost disappears into the refined interior.

Diners can enjoy their dumplings and xiao chi outside on the additional Tin Man Tables. These have been designed to be robust and are constructed of zinc primed then powder coated steel to help withstand the UK’s unpredictable weather conditions and can be easily stacked in order to store when not in use.
